Last weekend, Tentrr produced an immersive experience of a lifetime (at least, Tentrr's lifetime so far): sending 150 New Yorkers on unmarked buses jetting into unknown territories -- with the only instruction being to "find the fireflies" and discover Tentrr.
Our goal with this adventure was to instill mystery and curiosity through an immersive, theatrical endeavor -- so we collaborated with an experiential theater company to capture the surprising and delightful outdoor experience that Tentrr aims to bring to it's friends and family. We kidnapped some pals, including members of our partner, Soho House, and sent them to an ultra secret location, with just a few stops along the way.
The only information our guests had was a vague event invitation, as well as a small graphic novel with accompanying podcast to set the mood, and explain the story.
One of our stops was a roadside creamery in upstate New York. Nothing speaks magic like homemade ice cream with a view of the valleys below. Guests were greeted by some unnamed hosts wearing bowties, handing out treats like popcorn and candies.
Eventually, our passengers were curiously dropped off mid-field to meet their mysterious host, Brynn. Spirits were poured and people started to mingle and get comfortable -- shortly before Brynn small army of fireflies led our eager guests down separate paths to their next location.
More fireflies whisking away our guests...
Some of our guests tried to escape. Don't worry, they came back, all-smiles. Elixirs flowed, and curiousity continued to brim. Where would this night bring them? Would our split-up guests ever see the friends they arrived with ever again?
We'd have been remiss if we didn't feed our hostages. At one of our next locations, pinic baskets were distributed while acoustic music was lightly played in a forest hideaway. Some played games like bingo and cards, while others enjoyed the view.
Follow the fireflies! There's more...
Alas, our guests were reunited once again. At our next location, tarot-card readers spelled our fortunes and a smore's station provided nourishment for those with a sweet tooth. Some decked-out Tentrr tents provided shelter for the weary. We sang, we danced, we played, and we loved.
And...the last hurrah. We ended our trip, post-bonfire and firefly performance, at a luxurious poolside farm. Beats from the DJ bumped until nightfall, as our guests slowly started to trickle away, back to the grind in NYC. We hope everyone that attended this wild journey had as much fun as we did. Thank you for sharing your journies with your friends and on social media, and thank you for finding the fireflies.
